Who are the Nubians? What is the Nubian “Nobiin” language?
The Elder Nuraddin Abdulmannan discusses in very poignant details his life as a child in a small village in northern Sudan and his poor upbringing. He describes how his curiosity spurred his growth as a young man trying to find his way as a Nubian.
He would rise to a position as a Delegate for the Foreign Affairs of the Sudanese Government and appointed to serve in various countries around the world representing his people. A very accomplished and successful career came to a screeching halt after the overthrow of the Sudanese Government that lead to his exile in the United States. Elder Nuraddin Abdulmannan heads the Sudan Human Rights Organization and currently serves as President of the Nubia Project amongst many other initiatives.
His work with UNESCO and ASCAC created unique relationships with notable great thinkers and scholars such as Dr. Josef Ben-Jochanan, Ivan Van-Sertima and Cheik Anta Diop among many others who were also members of those initiatives.
Finally he discusses his ground breaking book “Nubian (Nobiin) Language and Grammar – Book 1”. He wishes that Nubian will become one of the official languages in Sudan and to be taught in the educational system there. Presently it is banned. Arabization has a tendency to do that. He continues to work tirelessly to address the problems of oppression and marginalization as well other civil rights issues.

His daughter Mayada Kandaka Mannan sheds light on the falsehoods of Nubian culture. You’ll be surprised that what you think you know about the Nubians has been wrong all this time.
